sweet sleepy six week old!

we can't believe kyler is 6 weeks old!  actually, she's 6 1/2 by now.  she is such a good, easy baby.  she really just eats and sleeps almost all the time.  she has def started smiling socially a little bit this past week and it is adorable!  

kamdyn saw kyler laying on the couch and decided to join her.  below is just before she decided to climb up, look at me and smile.  she was standing there saying "hiiiiiyeee."  

kyler napping in her crib...why do babies sleep so well on their tummy?  don't worry, she's on her back through the night.  stop judging me!

kamdyn got a balloon at the mall today and was excited about it all day long.  she took it with her everywhere and had a lot of fun playing with it.  it's the little things that excite them!

labor day weekend

there's nothing like a last minute getaway! on thursday night around 9pm we decided we wanted (needed) to get out of town for the weekend. we found a great hotel in rockwall - only a short drive from frisco. it was perfect! right on the lake and connected to a bunch of restaurants and shops. we had a great time and it was so nice to be somewhere else for a couple of days. here are a few pics from our trip.

kamdyn LOVED going on the balcony. also, the lock on the door did not work so she went out whenever she pleased.

not sure how kyler felt in her little bikini, but she looked cute!

we spent the days at the pool, which kamdyn loved!

we did not use the stroller all weekend. we had kamdyn walk everywhere and i took kyler in the sling. i love this thing!

i don't think she minded it too much either!

there were lots of pretty fountains - kamdyn loved all of them!

as usual, she can't resist the temptation to touch the water and try to get in.

throwing pennies in the fountain was a fun new thing.

the 2nd night we were there she was running to me, fell and hit her head on a cement step. it was horrible! we put ice on it for a little while and she was all smiles again after a while. it was a scary moment and she has a huge goose egg right on the middle of her head to prove it!

dog days of summer

kamdyn gets so excited to help daddy feed the dogs every night when he gets home from work. she used to just watch him at the back door but being the helper that she is, that did not last long. now she likes to help scoop the food, carry it outside and pour it in the bowl. then she wants to play with the dogs for a couple of minutes. that's usually it, as you can see from yesterday's example...




well, it actually felt pretty good out tonight. so we put her shoes on and decided she could help feed the dogs and we could sit outside for a little while. here's what happened after about 15 minutes of being outside...so many temptations...





can you just imagine what was going through her head as she finally just had to get in their water bowl. then thinking "oh, i bet i can fit sitting down too! nevermind that i already have a poopie diaper..." then the dogs still decide they should drink their water even though there's a little someone welcoming them to their water bowl.

thank goodness for crocs...they work well for dry feet or wet feet! and luckily they are coming out with cuter styles now! that's what really matters.

sweet sis

kamdyn wanted to be by kyler yesterday on the couch. as the events unfolded, kyler got a little fussy. it was still a cute sight. at first she just leaned in, then she wanted to kiss and hug her. the last one is her waving at kyler saying, "hiiii." and yes, kamdyn has become a little poser as you can see in the 3rd picture.

one month mohawk

i know, i know....i look really good in this picture. anyway - do you love the mohawk on this girl? it stayed like that for 2 days! and it looks like she has blonde hi-lights. i love it. the band for the bows i normally put on her broke, so today she was called "he" a couple times. poor thing.

anyway - we had her one month check-up today and she is a healthy gal! 97% in height and 87% in weight! looks like she's following in the footsteps of big sis. we'll see....

i guess kamdyn was in the mood to share with her sister the other night. the kicker was the smothering teddy bear that is bigger than kyler!
